Rare Dave McKean Art
Two early illustrations by Dave McKean. These clearly precede his work on Sandman covers, and probably have been done around the same time he did Violent Cases, his first graphic novel with Neil Gaiman. So that would be around 1986-1987.

These powerful concept art pieces by Duncan Fegredo for the game Diablo III shows the influence from Mike Mignola the artisthas integrated into his own style while working on the Hellboy series. The use of black and the confidence of the line and pose - the work of a master!

Tomer Hanuka

Tomer Hanuka illustrations and Un-Men Vertigo comics series covers. A new Tomer Hanuka book Overkill has been recently published. Also I recommend the comics collection Placebo Man, collecting Tomer's short stories from Bipolar magazine. Bipolar was a comic he did with his twin brother Asaf Hanuka, a brilliant illustrator in his own right. I hear they are planning to do comics together in the newar future again.

Marshall Arisman
The images Marshall Arisman has made, be it for illustrations or fine art pieces, share a haunting surrealistic quality and sometimes mystical leanings. He did an audio interview recently on the great Escape From Illustration Island podcast. Inspiring thoughts from a unique artist and teacher.
Dave McKean has always been one of my favourite artists, and it is clear to see that he took a lot of influences from Arisman at an earlier stage of his career.

Alex Maleev

The previous watercolours reminded me of the works by Alex Maleev, another comic artist (best known for his work on Daredevil), who does most of his art digitally, below is a fine example of his mastery of digital painting, and after that a "real" watercolour sketch.

Dustin Nguyen

The comic artist Dustin Nguyen has recently drawn Detective Comics and has done nice watercolour covers for the magazine. Here's one of those and another piece with a similar layout.
